Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American families and businesses were able to save $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. Every Pella® Product meets or exceeds ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What impact will this have on you? Not only could you notice a drop to your heating and cooling charges, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are each specifically designed and customized for your home, meaning no two projects are the same. Our large variety of products make it hard to discuss pricing without first considering your needs and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it helpful to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price upon seeing the project site itself. To speed up the quoting procedure, your Pella® sales representative is equipped with a computer and a portable printer so that they’ll have all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has had a chance to consider the requirements of the job and brings them to life with your vision.

In addition to offering a large assortment of first-rate products to pick from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the upgrades you want to while building great value into your Wellesley area home while you do it.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We advise that you clean them with a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mix or use an ammonia-free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Apply the mix to a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could produce streaks or create a film that magnetizes moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses dependable installers who are certified to install Pella windows and doors. We require them to complete a thorough set of training courses so that your windows and doors are installed properly and meet Pella’s strict warranty criteria. We look for the best Wellesley-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before we hire anyone, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. In addition to Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Pella provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our staff is made up of professionals whose expertise is in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Working with a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and quality installers means that you will have the knowledge of our whole team. We commonly use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Wellesley homeowners pick Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Founded in 1925, Pella is privately-held. Our success depends upon customer satisfaction, not stock prices. All of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with high standards and serviced by Pella’s professional Direct Sales Network. Unlike many of our competitors who sell exclusively through lumberyards or big box stores, Pella has dedicated windows & door showrooms the U.S. and Canada. This unique way of doing business gives our customers in Wellesley a highly personal experience with the help of a local to Wellesley, Pella-certified team. Whether you are considering the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a superior quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
